NANBF Competition Spreads East

Veteran promoter Dean Tortorice brings the first NANBF (North American Natural Bodybuilding Federation) competition to the eastern region of the United States. Tortorice was one of the pioneers of the natural movement and has been promoting natural contests for 25 years in the Pittsburgh area. He hosted many of the ANBC's (American Natural Bodybuilding Conference) national championships during the ANBC's era. He teams up with the NANBF this year for his long-running Natural Pittsburgh event. The event is a national qualifier for the NANBF Natural USA Championships. Tortorice's shows always feature the finest trophies around - Niels Andersen sculptures. Competitors who have current OCB Memberships won't need to purchase an additional NANBF membership since OCB and NANBF accept each others cards. That also means competitors who have or get NANBF memberships for the NANBF Natural Pittsburgh won't need to get an OCB membership to do another great show in Pittsburgh - Roger Duchon's OCB Iron City Classic, which is an IFPA Open & Masters Pro Qualifier. For more details on the NANBF Natural Pittsburgh Championships visit NANBF.org or DeansFitness.com. For details on the OCB Iron City Classic visit the OCB site.

IFPA Pro competition goes to the United Kingdom

A new IFPA pro show will take place September 19, 2010 that will give pros an opportunity to battle it out in the United Kingdom. The IFPA Pro British Grand Prix will take place in Glasgow, Scotland, is awarding over $6,000 (U.S.), and will feature Men's Pro Bodybuilding and Women's Pro Bodybuilding categories. The UK event becomes the second IFPA Pro show held outside the United States (the IFPA Pro Universe Muscle Classic takes place each year in the Cayman Islands). Dianne Brown Becomes First to Claim Two Yorton Cup Titles

Dianne Brown captured the Women's Pro Bodybuilding title at the 2009 IFPA Yorton Cup World Championships, thereby making her the first competitor to win a coveted Yorton Cup twice. Her first win came at the inaugural Yorton Cup show - the OCB (amateur) Yorton Cup, held in 2004 in North Carolina (Dianne Loftis at the time). While the two wins are at different levels - one at the amateur, the other at the pro, no other competitor has yet laid claim to a Yorton Cup title more than once. The IFPA Pro Yorton Cup was established in 2007. Bodybuilder Karly Green missed winning back-to-back titles in 2007 and 2008. The 2007 winner was only a mere point away from taking home the Cup again in 2008. See all past amateur and pro winners.
