Mike’s Highlight of Competing:
Winning the 2004 OCB Championships Overall. I would have
been happy winning the Masters overall. I still can't
believe I'm a Pro.
Mike’s Training:
My training philosophy is quit simple. I do not change how I
train leading up to a show. I pyramid all power movements
(legs, chest, shoulders and back). Arms are higher rep
8-10reps with increasing the weight till I barely make those
reps.
Mike’s Diet:
Off-season I up my carb intake to triple the grams of what
protein I consume. My protein intake is usually 1 1/2 to 2
grams for each pound of my body weight. I have a lot more
cheat meals off-season for extra calories. My contest diet
is very strict. I did not cheat once while training for the
2004 OCB Championships. I'll start with twice the carbs as
protein. Then lower the carbs every so many weeks till the
show.
The staples in my diet:
Proteins: chicken, fish, eggs and low carb protein powders.
Carbs: oatmeal, yams, brown rice and lots of salads with
broccoli and cauliflower.

Supplement’s Mike Uses:
Protein powders, glutamine, BCAA’s, creatine, and
multi-vitamins.
Mike’s Tips:
Learn as much about the diet as you can. Find out what works
best for you and stay with it. I truly believe that it’s the
diet that can make or break you. We all work out hard but
it’s the diet that will make you a champion.
