IFPA Pro Guideline Changes for 2010

Effective January 1, 2010

IFPA Yorton Cup Pro World Championships Eligibility
In order for pros to be eligible to compete in the IFPA Yorton Cup World Championships, they must participate in at least one other IFPA Pro contest earlier in the year. Exceptions to this policy can be made for competitors not residing in a country that hosts an IFPA Pro competition, and for past division overall Yorton Cup Pro champions.

All of the following currently meet the requirements for being eligible for IFPA Pro events:

Competitors who compete in an IFPA Pro event after January 1, 2010 are considered eligible for two years after the date of their last participation in an IFPA event.

Competitors who have competed in an IFPA Pro event prior to January 1, 2010 are considered eligible through December 31, 2012.

Competitors who win an IFPA pro-qualifying placement through any IFPA amateur affiliate after January 1, 2010, and who submit an IFPA Membership form within 60 days of receiving their IFPA Pro Qualifying Packet*, are considered eligible for two years after the date of issuance of their IFPA Pro Membership Card (competitors who do not submit an IFPA Membership form within 60 days of receiving their IFPA Pro Qualifying Packet lose their eligibility and have to re-qualify prior to competing in an IFPA Pro event).

Pro/Amateur Policy
Once becoming an IFPA member and competing in an IFPA pro show afterward, competitors are no longer eligible to compete in any OCB, NANBF, or any other IFPA amateur affiliates’ events in the same category until after expiration of IFPA Pro eligibility.

Classes
Formation of classes within divisions at a show is at a promoter’s discretion. Bodybuilding divisions split into classes are divided by weight while Figure divisions split into classes are divided by height.

Crossovers
Crossover entries between Women’s Pro Bodybuilding and Pro Figure at the same event are not permitted in the IFPA.

Additional Information
There are no restrictions preventing IFPA pros from receiving non-affiliated media exposure or from competing in or assisting at nonaffiliated amateur or pro events.
