CHUCK BUSER

Inducted 2008

Charles (Chuck) G. Buser was born in 1951 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He began weightlifting around 1966 and started competing in 1970. He withdrew from competition for a number of years after 1974 due to his frustration over the amount of drug use that was going on in bodybuilding. He returned in 1979 after the emergence of the natural movement.

Buser was active in the formation of the American Natural Bodybuilding Conference (ANBC), served as its Chief Judge, developed its original judging system, and was a member of its advisory council. He contributed to the ANBC publication (Natural Bodybuilder/ANBC Journal of Natural Bodybuilding) as well as Natural Bodybuilding magazine.

Injuries kept Buser out of competition after 1983 until his return in 1989. His last competition was in 1990.
